A husband. A wife. And a love of good beer.

We’re Alex and Lisa, a husband and wife from Leeds who love good beer. The idea for New Brew Thursday came from Untappd. If you aren’t familiar with Untappd, it’s an app that allows you to check in beers and give them a rating.

You can earn badges for checking in certain styles, visiting different locations, trying beers from different breweries and so on. One of the badges is New Brew Thursday – if you check in a new beer every Thursday for three consecutive weeks, you get the badge. Each time you do it, you get a new level.

And that was where our inspiration for NBT came from. We decided it would be great to try a new beer every week, and why not do it on a Thursday? So that’s what we’ve been doing since 2021.

Of course, we don’t only drink beer on Thursdays. And we don’t only drink new brews – we have some firm favourites that stay in the mix.

But we decided it was about time that we shared our love of beer with the world.

Every month, we share our new brew choices and our thoughts on those beers, and in between, we share our beer experiences, including brewery tours, taproom tasting sessions, and visits to the best bars for beer lovers.
