This month we had our first in-person new brew event, tried a selection of beers from Adnams, and worked our way through a range of Heathens, as well as popping over to Manchester to try out some city centre bars.

But before I get on to the details of what we’ve been drinking, here’s a quick rundown of our next new brew events.

In-Person Event (Leeds): October 3rd

I’m hosting my next in-person event in Leeds on Friday October 3rd at the fantastic Tetley.

You can register here. It’s completely free - I just need an idea of numbers, so let me know what time you are likely to arrive and whether you are bringing a friend (or two).

Venue shout-outs

Before I dive into what we’ve been drinking this month, I wanted to mention two great venues we’ve visited this month.

First up, The Brew Society in Leeds, where we had our in-person event. It had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and a great selection of beers.

My second shout-out goes to North Westward Ho in Manchester, where they offer 18 keg lines and 5 cask ale lines in a city centre taproom with a traditional pub feel. Unfortunately, we didn’t get any photos because we were too busy trying the delicious brews.

And my final mention goes to the Microbar in Manchester Arndale Market, where they have an impressive range of canned and bottled beers from around the world as well as a great range on keg and cask.

What we’ve been drinking in July…

New Brews at Home

As well as our Heathens and Adnams selections, we’ve been trying a range of new brews at home, including a couple of single-hopped beers and a delicious mixed-ferm saison.

New Brews Out and About

As always, we’ve been on the lookout for tasty new brews when we’re out and about, and we found a fair few, including these:

What’s on the menu for August?

We’re kicking off August with a trip to London, so no doubt we’ll sniff out some new brews while we’re there. We also made our first homebrew in July, which is due to be ready for drinking just in time for the bank holiday. In addition, our collection of beers doesn’t seem to be shrinking, so we’ll be doing our best to remedy that, starting with these two Arbor beers.

And, as always, we’ll be on the lookout for exciting new brews when we’re out and about. Feel free to send me your recommendations, and I’d love you to join me in person for a new brew at my next online event.

Cheers!
