Brewery: Lost and Grounded | Location: Bristol | Find them: Lost and Grounded

Lost and Grounded is a Bristol-based brewery that specialises in brewing lagers using German and Belgian malts. All of their beers are unfiltered and vegan-friendly.
We found these four beers in Waitrose, but had them in our fridge for quite a while - probably a bit longer than we should have. They were all still in date but might have been even better if we’d had them at their freshest. That said, they all tasted pretty good to us, and I like that they list the hops used in every beer.
Helles: Unfiltered Lager 4.4%

We decided to start with the Helles as it had a slightly lower ABV than the others. We tried quite a few different German lagers when we were in Munich last year, and we were very impressed with how good this was in comparison.
It was crisp, refreshing and very moreish, with flavours of brioche and honey. An excellent start to the night.
Brewer’s note: Gentle and balanced, Helles exemplifies everything we aim to achieve as lager brewers. Rolling hills, open fields and happy times with friends – a reminder there are good things ahead.
Helles uses the same pilsner malt blend as Keller Pils, and gently hopped with Magnum, Perle and Tettnang.
Keller Pils: Lager Beer 4.8%

This is Lost and Grounded’s flagship beer and has won awards. It was slightly drier than the helles with more bite on the finish. Another great lager - certainly far better than most of the macro lagers that dominate UK bars. Would be a great beer for a hot summer’s day.
Brewer’s note: Sometimes the simple things in life are the best. We take Pilsner malt from Germany and Belgium, and combine with three traditional hop varieties – Magnum, Perle and Hallertauer Mittelfruh – to produce a clean, unfiltered, Hop Bitter Lager Beer.
Gold Award Winner at the World Beer Cup® 2023 in the Kellerbier/Zwickelbier beer-style category.
Wanna Go To The Sun: Pale Ale 4.6%

This was a decent pale ale - nothing particularly special, but a good beer. Peach flavours and a nice bitterness. Good mouthfeel for a 4.6% beer.
Brewer’s note: Our easy-drinking, delicious Pale Ale! A blend of Pils malt, light caramalt and oats form the base of this beer, which is balanced by a blend of Citra, Ekuanot and El Dorado hops - peachy, citrusy and superbly balanced. Absolutely lush!
No Rest For Dancers: Red Ale 5.6%

We like red ales and this was a good one. It had a lovely body and notes of brown bread on the flavour. Very moreish and a great beer to finish the night on.
Brewer’s note: A fruity and smooth red ale, and our nod to Belgian-style Dubbels. Brewed with a blend of Belgian malts including Pils, Vienna, Crystal and Special B to give a deep-amber colour, balanced with Brewers Gold, Chinook and Mosaic hops to provide a clean bitterness with pine and citrus notes.
All four of these beers are available to buy on the Lost and Grounded website.
