We’ve had a fair few weekends away this month, including a trip up to Newcastle, a long weekend in Poznan, and a night over in Cleethorpes for the Humber 10k (Alex came first in his age category 🥳). We’ve come across some lovely (and well-stocked) craft beer bars, and we (finally) got around to tapping our homebrew (which has been sitting in our fridge since the end of August).

But before I share more about what we’ve been drinking, here are the details of my next new brew event.

In-Person Event (Leeds): October 3rd

I’m hosting my next in-person event in Leeds on Friday October 3rd at the fantastic Tetley.

You can register here. It’s completely free - I just need an idea of numbers, so let me know what time you are likely to arrive and whether you are bringing a friend (or two).

Venue shout-outs

You wouldn’t necessarily think Poznan would have a big craft beer scene, but you’d be pleasantly surprised. It actually has a great selection of bars. We only had time to visit four this time around, but would definitely head back to visit some we missed.

We also found a lovely little bar and bottle shop in Cleethorpes, not too far from the station, so if you’re ever over that way, I’d definitely recommend popping in.

What we’ve been drinking in September…

And finally, here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve been drinking in September

New Brews at Home

We haven’t had all that many beers at home this month, as we’ve been out and about so much, and we had a keg on the Blade that we needed to finish off.

We finally tapped our homebrew, which was actually very good (maybe we’ll start our own brewery one day). We used the Brew Bros “Brewery in a Box” kit, and I’d recommend it if you fancy trying your hand at brewing.

New Brews Out and About

As always, we’ve been on the lookout for tasty new brews when we’re out and about, and we found a fair few, including these:

What’s on the menu for October?

We’ll be kicking off the month with our in-person new brew event on October 3rd, and The Tetley always has a great selection of beers. We’ll also be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary with a trip to Malta and will be seeking out some local brews. And as always, we have a fridge full of beers just waiting to be cracked open.

Moving into November, we’ll be heading to Northern Monk’s Dark & Wild festival. If you like dark beers or wild ales, this event is well worth attending. We went back in 2023 and tried some stunning beers.

As always, we’ll be on the lookout for new brews wherever we are, and I’d love to hear about any good beers you’ve come across recently, so feel free to send me your recommendations.

Cheers!
