After celebrating Alex’s birthday at the end of May with a beer festival, we had a steady start to June while we focused on completing the Leeds 10k (both of us smashing our course PBs).
Mid-month, we headed to Whitelock’s for their Beer Fest before spending a pre-flight night in Manchester and a week in Montenegro. We arrived back in the UK last night and we’ll shortly be heading to Sheffield to celebrate my birthday (44 today) with a Def Leppard concert, some new brews, and (hopefully) some cake.
In-Person New Brew Networking
Not long to go until our next in-person catch-up on Friday 17th July, from 5pm at Victoria & Commercial in Leeds..
Please register if you plan to attend so I can confirm numbers. Let me know if you are bringing a friend (or friends) and what time roughly you think you’ll arrive.
Online New Brew Networking
Sign up, grab a new brew, then log in for a friendly chat.
You'll be asked to introduce yourself, tell us a bit about your business, and let us know what you’re drinking. Once everyone has done this, we’ll just chat about whatever comes up.
There are no sales pitches or presentations. It’s just a group of business owners having a beer together.
Venue Shout-Out: Whitelock’s, Leeds
Whitelock’s is the oldest pub in Leeds, and if you haven’t been, I recommend a vist. We’ve been a few times, but we popped in this month when we saw they were hosting a Beer Fest focused on beers brewed in Leeds.

As well as always having a good selction of cask and keg beers, Whitelock’s has indoor and outdoor seating so you can enjoy your brew in the courtyard or the cosy interior.

What We’ve Been Drinking in June…
Here’s a quick rundown of what we’ve been drinking in June.
A collab beer (plus the three beers that inspired it)

As part of Northern Monk’s 10 year celebration of Faith, they did a collab with Fyne Ales and New Barns, inspired by Faith, Jarl and Pale Ale. Rather than just try the collab, we decided to try it alongside the three beers that inspired it. Faith is one of our favourite beers and we both like Jarl so it’s not like it was a hardship. All good beers and a great collab.
A selection of beers from Akademija

While Kotor didn’t have many craft beer bars, we did manage to source a lovely little selection of brews from Akademija Brewery which we enjoyed throughout the week while sitting on our balcony overlooking the cathedral in Kotor old town. If you’ve never been to Montenegro, I highly recommmend a visit to the Bay of Kotor - it’s absolutely stunning.

New Brews Out and About
As always, we’ve been on the lookout for tasty new brews when we’re out and about, and we found a fair few, including these:

Top 5 & Beer of the Month
What’s on the menu for the month ahead?
We haven’t quite decided what we’ll be drinking for our Thrusday new brews yet, but we do have these three selections ready to go.

We’ve also got our in-person New Brew Networking event in a couple of weeks, so we’re looking forward to having a new brew or two with anyone who wants to join us (we’d love to see you there).
And as always, we’ll be on the lookout for interesting new brews when we’re out and about.
I’m always open to recommendations, so do let me know good beers you’ve been drinking recently, and I hope to see you at our next new brew event on the 17th July.
Cheers!
